Yeah, I've tried booting up from the CD. But this is basically what happens. With 2 GB installed, I can do whatever I want, nothing goes wrong. Problem is, with 4 GB installed, if I boot up from the CD, it loads windows files, gets to 100%, and BSOD tells me that my hardware is screwed up...

but in order to do that, I need to have only the 2 GB installed. That kind of defeats the purpose, no?

Problem with that though is that I don't know how to reset it back to as if it was new. How do I do it?

It's 64-bit. I've just about reached the point where I'm gonna say to hell with it, and wipe out the hard drive and start over. I have nothing important on here anyway.

Well I installed that update, restarted to let it apply it, shut the computer off, installed the RAM again, and booted up..... still no windows. =/ Is there anything else that could be the problem?

I have 2 GB of RAM (linked here.) and decided to upgrade to 4 GB. I tried installing the new 2 GB into my motherboard (linked here.) but it does not seem to want to accept it. Both sets of RAM work fine independently, and they both work in either of the cooresponding slots (if that made sense)...

Yes, but the idea was that after I get this new PC built, to hand off the old one to my mom, so if I were to OC it, I'd have to be careful not to fry the CPU. Plus the fact that I have no clue how to OC a CPU...

Update: I tried 600/900 and it's not stable in the least bit. Is it better to OC the core or the memory? Because 675/800 seems nice and stable. What should I do from here? (Stock is 540/700 btw)

Yeah, but I decided to take it slow to start, and before I got very high it turned yellow (a warning I suppose?) and the GPU gets SO hot when scanning for artifacts that it kind of scares me. Should I go farther or just let it stay?

I used ATITool just a minute ago, and it's nice, and I brought it up using that (600/800 like before) but it worries me because I'll be idling at 60 (my case is garbage... new one coming soon) then when I scan for artifacts, it's stable, and none are found, but the GPU temp (shown by nVidia...
