Before underclocking it check your temps of the video card. The high temps are most likely causing the artifacts. Increase your fan speed on your video card and the rest should take care of itself

Yah big time I do not recommend the 4850x2. I have first hand expierence with them and for what ever reason they were duds. They couldnt run any game. I even rma both got new ones same issue. if you research others have had the same issue.
