my hp desktop will not come out of booting

my first guess is that that outlet has a short in it. Try a completely different outlet. If they work fine elsewhere you know it is the outlet.

    desktop computer help!

how much are you spending on that new box? The problem with your old box could be software related (viri, etc) but sounds like hardware. Is it overheating? Make sure all fans are spinning and that it is not a dust bowl. If you have multiple sticks of RAM then try each one individually and...

    Final Build Drumroll Please.

In that case, the heatsink should come with thermal paste pre-applied. At least, I have never purchased one that didn't. If your a gamer then I would consider going with a DX11 GPU from ati's 5xxx series. I can see you wanting to upgrade to DX11 in the near future yet you are purchasing the...

    Graphics card compare

the two cards are going to be fairly close with the 275 coming out on top most of the time. You do not need PhyX. You may want it but, you don't need it.

O.k., im gonna order, does this look good??

Jamin is right on. If you don't have a reason to go micro atx then I wouldn't. And if you do swap boards for a regular atx it probably won't have on board video.

Need help with Graphic card please

both are great GPUs. The 4870 is a bit faster will run a little hotter and use a bit more power. The 5770 is close in speed, runs cooler, uses less power, and has a couple extra bells and whistles like DirectX 11. People could argue for either card. As far as thermal paste goes, I have...

    what to do?

could be PSU, could be bunk GPU. It sounds like you think the card is just not powerful enough: this is not the case. It sounds like a hardware problem but it never hurts to update drivers. edit: forgot to give advice... RMA RMA RMA (chanting), if you are running up against an RMA deadline...

Need help with Graphic card please

those are good cards. I just can't bring myself to recommend a 57xx card, "i am disapoint" in 57xx benchmarking. They are DX11 for what its worth.

Need help with Graphic card please

The vast majority of computer users are not going to be overclocking. Overclocking is strickly a computer enthusiast activity. And basically what it is is changing the settings in the motherboards bios to get a CPU to run at higher clock speeds than it was set to originally. A good analogy...

Need help with Graphic card please

That is a nice build. High-end graphics cards are mostly for gaming. And, to be honest, you can play any game on the market right now with a medium level card. A 4870 1gb like this saphire card (164.99) would be a great choice for a medium to high level card that is not to hard on the wallet...
