Thanks for all your help. I just ran Ubuntu from the disc and on one of my core's the CPU usage is 100%. This changed from core 1 to core 2 in 5 minutes. Do any of you guys know what the problem is? It shouldn't be like this on a Q9400 im sure. Thanks

Hi Ive come to the choosing Hard Drive stage. I'd like one Boot Up Drive and another Bigger hard drive for programs and personal files. Could anyone help me choose them? Budget is about £30 on the boot up and £60 on the bigger. Thanks

Your GFX doesn't have a huge amount of memory. Although it should still be able to play it on lowest settings. What other games have you tried?

Yeah as i said. Ill see how much i can get the Q9550 for, If i get it anywhere near £170 then ill go with that. If not, Ill be happy with the Q8400 and put the extra money towards a new gfx card maybe. Thanks for all your help!

Ill be spending around 200 on one nearer the end of the year but the Sims 3 will keep me occupied until then and im sure the 8600GT will be good for that :D
