so i have an i7 930 and im run my ram @ default speed 1600. my friend is telling me that im overlocking my ram because i7 controller run the ram @ 1066, but i have g.skill 1600 ripsaw ram. so am i overclocking my ram?

im not oc, the default is messed up, for example it sets dimm voltage to 1.65, which is way too high so i had to change it

for my motherboard, i set cpu vcore to 1.2625v, cpu oill vcore to 1.8v, qpi pill vcore to 1.3v and dimm voltage to 1.5 v, is these setting correct?

can anyone recommend me an i7-930 cooler for under $30? i would prefer it to be around $20. Im not going to oc, is just that using the socket cooler, the idle core temp from cpuid is around 53C and i think it too hot.

the problem is after i cold boot my computer, ill get 4 gb, then i load default setting i get 6 gb again, then i restart my computer i get 4 gb again, then i load default setting i get 6 gb again, then i restart my computer i get 4 gb againuter i get 4 gb again... do u see the problem?

ok, so im using 3 sticks and i know i put them in the right slots. also, i tried them each individually and they all work. i have manually changed setting in the bio and now i can get all 6 gb at 1600, but the problem is when i cold boot my pc (3 weeks old, built it myself), i get 2 or 4 GB...
