Running fiber from house to shop.

If you want to try terminating fiber yourself, you could go with 50 micron multi-mode instead. The distance, application, and bandwidth you are working with would not be limited. If you just want to get it done, then run something pre-terminated and rated for outdoor application (OSP). If you...

Should I buy precon. or make it myself?

Not necessarily a bad choice sometimes. Makes life simpler. Down the line, if you need assistance with an upgrade or something, c'mon back!

WIndows 10 Games keep getting alt-tabbed without my action

Sorry to necro a thread, but if I remember correctly, re-installing Razer Synapse fixed it. Something's the matter with that software... other times, it'll pick out a random key on my keyboard and when I type it, it'll either not type it or type it like six times until I close the application.

    Ryzen 3600x Case

If you don't want to think about it, this one will do fine. But like johnb35 said, it's very open-ended... it's like asking "Hey what's the best car for me to bring me and a couple other people on a road trip?". Without knowing more about the situation, I would just tell you to get a Honda Accord.

Should I buy precon. or make it myself?

Your budget is more than enough for your needs, but not by too much if you're including peripherals. Your question about buying pre-configured or making it yourself, I'd answer to make it yourself. If your research has gotten you to this forum, you're capable of researching how to assemble a PC...

Not getting the speed I'm paying for

Maaaaybe your network adapter drivers, but these types of issues tend to be router, modem, or cabling-related.

WIndows 10 Games keep getting alt-tabbed without my action

Okay, so I reinstalled it, and the issue still occurs. One oddity I've noticed is that trying to maximize the game window right after the "alt-tab" occurs really throws the computer for a loop. It will just sit there and not maximize the window, sometimes even showing a spinning wheel. However...

It's up-to-date, but I'll try and reinstall it when I get the chance. Standby.

WIndows 10 Games keep getting alt-tabbed without my action

Hi, I've been playing a lot of PUBG and TF2 recently. This mostly happens in TF2, but did happen at least once in PUBG. I'll be playing the game full-screen, and then all of a sudden I see my Chrome window. As far as I can tell, the only weird thing I'm doing is holding the mouse button (M1) for...

Any applications that keep track of serial number?

Turns out I had registered the SN on ASUS’s site under an old email, so I was able to retrieve it after all. Thanks for the help!

Any applications that keep track of serial number?

True. They keep track of MACs, IPs, device names, etc... but doesn't seem common [or possible] to grab the SN. I'm sure I've tossed the box, and I seem to have taken pictures of the SNs for every other device that I own. A real Murphy's Law situation.

Any applications that keep track of serial number?

Long time no see! So my laptop was stolen last night, and the police wanted a serial number to put in their database. I can't seem to find the photo I took of the serial number, so I was wondering if there were any common web applications or anything of that sort that might keep track of the...

Not Familiar with Carriers, Phones this Gen

Oh shoot I thought this thread just got swept under the rug. Thanks for replying! Okay, I'd never considered Cricket. I figured it was like Boost Mobile or something, a discount carrier with discount service. I'll have to look into them. You're right about getting phones that are out of your...

Not Familiar with Carriers, Phones this Gen

Hey Y'all, So I'm not really a phone enthusiast except for once every ~2 years when my upgrade comes around. We've been on an AT&T family plan sharing data and enjoying unlimited data, texts. However, we're seeing the benefits of other carriers now. There are going to be (at least) 3 people...
