Alright, I got one for the super tech geeks.

I got a WEIRD case of internet access disruption that I can't pinpoint. Perhaps somebody out there that is more technically gifted can help a guy out. The issue is that my internet connectivity is going out periodically throughout the day. I know enough about computers to say that it is not...

Puzzle out there for the smartest computer geek.

Thanks, but . . . Up above when I said, "run a diagnostic repair through internet explorer", I meant to say run Network Diagnostics (i.e. I've already been using this). It definitely does help however, the issue continues to reappear. The two solutions I have to repair this issue currently...

    GRID Problem

So from the time you got the game to the time you began having problems . . . what has changed? Have you added any programs or hardware. I know this is real basic but have you gone through and checked through msconfig to minimize programs loading at startup and have your run full sweeps for...

malewarebytes and avg free wont open!

Either way, I've already told you on the other thread. Your computer is done! Save the files that you can still back up. Windows is about to go bye bye. Some crashes are beyond repair. Sorry.

Who can figure out this puzzle?

Yes John. Thanks for the input but I did run both Sequoia View and Pie Chart. Neither show any anomalies are consistent with the information I've been able to track down. Still, 140 gb being read of information that shouldn't exist, that it shouldn't be reading.

    omg!

You definitely have malware and as you said trojans as well. Hit control + alt + delete and see if you see either "a.exe", "b.exe", or "c.exe" if you have those chances are you are about to do a total system crash. Save the files you can and get you and your family to the hills before it blows...

Puzzle out there for the smartest computer geek.

I have an hp pavillion desktop. 2.8 duo core, 3 gigs of ram, xp home media service pack 3. I had move residence and went from dsal to cable internet (several months transpired before I bothered to hook this up). At the new house a I have a modem and wireless/hardline router (of which I'm...

Who can figure out this puzzle?

Heeelp! I had gone through and cleaned the disk thoroughly. There's an untouched section in partion D:// which is the recovery console that hp puts in (If I mess that up I may lose windows if anything corrupts the system again, not an option). When I go to disk clean up it doesn't give any...

Who can figure out this puzzle?

I'm having an issue on this computer. It is an HP Pavillion Pentium duo core, 3 Gigs of ddr ram, and a 225 gb hard drive. It has Windows XP Media w/ service pack 3. I've had this computer about 4 years and is currently running good, no slowing down or weird stuff. In that period of time I've...

    No Sound, NO JOKE!

I have two pci slots. One is used for a usb card because the motherboards onboard usb's (all of them) won't read. Rather than replace the board I put on a usb card. The other slot is used for wireless since it's in a location that can't get hardwired to the internet. What can be done...

    Memory being used up . . . ?

Well, I've checked the system's backup utility, erased any backed up files, erased temp folders, cleaned disk, checked disk for errors, wiped out pretty much all my personal documents and media. What I've gained from all of this is about 60 gb. Which is exactly proportional to the amount...

    Memory being used up . . . ?

I'm having issue with Windows XP Media w/ service pack 3. It's saying I've pretty much reached my limit of space on the hard drive. The drive is 220GB capacity and the best I've been able to track down is roughly about 85 gb of stuff on the computer. How do I hunt and kill whatever is...

    Problem

I think you're right. Could be the card or mobo, either way. Replacement time. If I had to guess I'd say that some point during the messing of the wires something came just slightly undone. It was enough to create a spark and overload on something. I think the lesson is always check the...

    Problem

Ok, so somewhere something went terribly south. It's hard to diagnose since this is going to be one of those issues where if you weren't there . . . just knowing stuff isn't working is not enough info. If someone gave me a computer in this condition I would start back with the basics...

Thanks Ellanky, let me know if you remember what that is. I'm still unable to get the sound.

Virus kicks me out of XP - Help!

The lampsy trojan! Ah yes, I know this one well. It's is as fast acting as it is intelligent and it always comes with many many friends. If you find a way to rid it let me know because I've tried: 1. killing it in safe mode with anti-virus and malware software 2. going to a restore point (but...

    Xp Blue Screen... Help plz

You are right! I know plug and play is a long way of resolving hardware problems. But here's another thought, if this crash is only occuring when you get that error message when playing a game then it might be a memory issue but of another sort. Perhaps you are getting an overload. This can...
