it could be trying to use a "generic" or another driver for a different card. i ran into this problem recently on a card that was given to me. stuff kept trying to work but wasn't right.

there is a video card that has a different interface, the cord spits into two vga ports. ive had bad luck with them tho

a pentium 3 machine would have more than 1 ide connection usually. sure its not a 386 or 486? anyway you have it working thats what matters right?

IMO i think thats like asking which car is better, a chevy or a ford. they both drive around and are both available with different options and power plants

just about anything but an eMachine. if you get a e machine youll have to buy another computer in 6 months. look around on here and learn how to build one and you should come out ahead.

basically plugging everything in is a matching game. the board and the power supply should have came with a book or paper showing what everything is. the plugs will only go in one way with little to no effort. you should have the large harness, 20 or 24 pins, and something to power the cpu. 4 or...

that very well could be it. even tho the ipod is connecting fine. mine is inside an entertainment center in the same room. if i open the cabinet doors then i get better signal. anytime the signal has to travel and go through things like walls, you loose signal quality.

what is the distance between the router and the computer? is the router enclosed inside maybe a cabinet of some sort?

i must be the only one with a lame one then. in my opinion they are not that great. but i have 2. one of which i have never booted. i would think the others would be great. but like i said i probably just got a lame one.

you can usually get drivers from the manufacturers website. but if windows doesn't have drivers for you internet connection devices youll have to get that using a friends computer.

you could try turning the router off and see what networks are still available and/or change the name of yours. but changing the names means youll have to reenter all the key codes in anything wirelessly connected to the router. like gaming consoles, hand held devices, etc.

probably get an adapter and plug it into a desktop pc. and see if maybe you can explore the drive. i was only able to do it like that one time. since then havn't run into a hard drive issue. but just in case i have the mybook. when i did it tho, i had to do it quick by copying to the main drive...
