Like I said OP, regardless of what the AMD nerds try to tell you, the I5 8600K is going to be your best buy for several reasons including the fact that it fits your motherboard it will be cheaper than going to ryzen. And guessing what i5 you have is most likely a 35% upgrade. And again...

Literally that's all you got...... that is all you can pick a part..... uhh i said 2700x cause thats the best ryzen has out, which is destroyed by the cheaper I5, aside from thread ripper. Don't even get me started on the i7 Hi, leg warehouse? Yeah, Mr. Omni and Mr Darren needs something to...

Wait I have one more I've said this before and I will say it again if you want to be cheap and get meh performance without having to overclock go AMD If you got the pockets deep enough not to care and you don't want to be replacing your processor every two years and want great performance out...

Oh you poor souls. https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-9600K-vs-AMD-Ryzen-7-2700X/4031vs3958 So do you want to look like complete fools anymore or should I just stop here

Just saying the i5 9600k is faster than even the ryzen 7 2700x, cheaper, and just a better chip all the way around unless you go thread ripper, but then i have about 7 more intel processors that are a better buy, you aren't going up in proformance at all going to AMD from Intel despite what some...

A thread that may lead to building my own super duper computer

That would have been my second suggestion, you can build an i9 build for like $600ish more. However i will say that when it comes to video editing AMD Ryzen would do quite well. Build - $2600ish CPU: Intel i9-9900K Graphics Card: GTX 1070 Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro RAM: 32GB DDR4...

A thread that may lead to building my own super duper computer

Depends on what you want to build, IMO for video editing AMD is better choice than Intel. Build - $2,000ish CPU: AMD R7 2700X Graphics Card: GTX 1060 6GB Motherboard: MSI X470 Gaming Plus RAM: 32GB DDR4 Storage 1: 500GB Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD Storage 2: 5TB Toshiba HDD (or 6TB / 8TB) Power...

    PC upgrade - gaming

Oh i see now.... its not about the cpu, its a problem with how you think intel should do business. I understand both your sides now. And for sure, your machine. Hope it does well for you :)

    PC upgrade - gaming

Yes there is. Intel has been focused on high power cpu's specifically for gaming a lot longer than AMD. AMD was focused on business tasks and just recently jumped in to the gaming market Intel believes people will pay more for a better quality cpu from a company that has been doing it for...

    PC upgrade - gaming

Would if he listened to you 2 for sure. He asked what is an upgrade suggestion for the gear he already has, not some asinine suggestion of switching to an inferior brand because its cheap. There's a reason they are cheap. Ranting lmao. Anyway neither does an AMD processor suggestion but you...

    PC upgrade - gaming

Its because people have the false belief that AMD is better than Intel which is laughable. Even the Coffee Lake I5 8600k will destroy anything AMD has at the same or less power consumption and only 6 cores, when it comes to gaming. All I gotta say about AMD's pricing is you get what you pay...

    PC upgrade - gaming

You know, being on how your a moderator and have been a member since 2011 and all, I figured you would know by now AMD does not fit Intel sockets  unless your indirectly suggesting a probably more expensive than 200$ rebuild and switch to..... AMD (Gross)

    Computer beeps /help needed/

Sweet. Just thought of another cause that is possible, could be the power supply is giving out, if it is, the mobo isnt getting the correct voltage which can affect external Hardware like HDD, GPU, Ram and any other components attached to the mobo's ports.

Depends on what is wrong with it. According to this site, 1-3-1 through 2-4-4 beeps means DIMMs not being properly identified or used Source: https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln143065/dell-optiplex-and-vostro-beep-codes-and-error-messages?lang=en So my guess is ram is bad or...
