    Cleaning Up a Computer

He means any extra programs that start up that aren't from the OS install. Yes AV programs do start up and slow down your machine but they are a necessary evil. Open Ccleaner and click on "tools" then click (I think it says) "start up". Look in that list for extra programs such as HP Update...

As long as you don't choose "Clean Install" it won't delete them. If you're that concerned back them up first

windows 7 and hard drive problem

No take the slave out. From your description we are assuming the boot files for your machine were install on the slave drive for some reason during install, so since start up repair didn't work doing an upgrade will reinstall all system files thus reinstalling the boot files to your master drive

    LOLing at my old PC

There may be an underlying problem with the HDD. Was there any particular reason the files got corrupted? You may want to test the HDD first.

windows 7 and hard drive problem

You can do an upgrade from the disc directly. Boot to it choose install, then it will ask if you want to do an upgrade or clean install. Choose upgrade, then follow the prompts. Upgrade will keep existing files, clean will reformat and delete everything.

    Macbook

By build quality I mean in general. The feel of the machine the feel of the OS. The nicest thing I think is the fact that the hardware and OS are designed with each other in mind so the overall feel is better than you could ever get in a PC based machine. Also I'm assuming its the unibody...

    Help choosing a key board!

I have the R.A.T. 7 and love it. It's not wireless so I'm not sure if there are any issues with that. The quality is good and the customizability is awesome. It is very accurate and has nice features. If you have the money go for it.

You spelled "krappy" wrong, it's "crappy". In regards to: You are entirely false. If you install Windows with any disk you always have to enter the COA to activate it. I know as I have to install Windows almost every day for my job
