It should be able to play games like Farcry 2, but if you plan on maxing out newer games, I'd look into a better video card and processor. Also that hard drive is quite small, I'd look into getting atleast a 500 gb hard drive.

The only problem with the Asrock is, that if I were to crossfire, I'd be covering up alot or slots and ports on the bottom of the board, including the front panel audio one. But that isn't too much of a problem, seeing as how I can always use the ones of the back of the board.

Yes, there will be a huge difference, seeing as the new motherboard you're looking at only supports DDR2 memory, not DDR3. And the phenom II x4 955 BE is alot better than the newer one you linked.
