Looking to buy a new comp. Need input.

Excellent choice of parts by Bennyboy. If you have to get a rig right now, it has to be AMD simply because of its superior price/performance, especially when you factor in the cost of the motherboard. Build the PC yourself, you'll be surprised at how easy it is when you get down to it and I'm...

Kb, Mb, Gb, Tb, Pb, Eb?

It was on Intel's roadmap for a Q4'10 launch but apparently it has been postponed to Q1'11.

    Rate my new home computer!

Excellent build, but you could go even cheaper on the motherboard to save a few extra bucks. Biostar A780L3G?

Trying to increase gaming frame rate

As a general rule of thumb, the price/performance of AMD vs Nvidia is nearly the same. However the AMD cards tend to be less power hungry and thus generate less heat. Depending on your motherboard's chipset, you might be able to enable Crossfire with your integrated graphics although its...

Kb, Mb, Gb, Tb, Pb, Eb?

Intel is coming out with the 600GB SSD this year, so we should see TB drives in a couple of years. And even if everyone starts storing their data in the cloud, that data still has to be stored somewhere. So traditional HDD storage will still be around for a long time.

    small upgrade

Go for a 5670. Don't bother changing the CPU, that's still an excellent processor. A friend's rig with E6300 @ 1.86ghz paired with a 4770 was able to handle Crysis at medium details at 1440x900. WOW? Come on.

    Upgrading my computer

Or you could dump the whole rig, could still be worth $300. Then build yourself a spanking new rig with a bit of a top up.

Kb, Mb, Gb, Tb, Pb, Eb?

I am not familiar with the failure rates of the large drives these days. I do know for a fact that the 2TB drives seem to fail more frequently, but 1TB drives have been out for ages now and the technology should be pretty mature at this point of time. I believe the bottleneck now is due to the...

How is this for a gaming build?

Go for the i5 Sandy Bridge processor. It's as good as the older core entry level i7s in benchmarks. The resale value will be much higher, better upgrade path in the future.

Trying to increase gaming frame rate

Go for at least a 5770, preferably 5850 if you want to game properly on 1920x1080. Couple that with at least a decent 500W PSU.

Non Gamer Build. Please review before I order.

Good build, the SBs are real fast at photoshop. You could consider geting KVR instead of the Gskill RAM, will save quite a bit. 4GB might be enough as well depending on what you're working with. Throw in a SSD as the main partition you'll be working your video editing from and you'll be...

I need advice on upgrading my Graphics Card

Sounds like you could use a new graphics card! Of course you have to make sure that your CPU is decent as well. RAM and your PSU might also be the culprit here, to a lesser extent.

Trying to increase gaming frame rate

    A generic PSU with GTX470? That's a no-no.

desperate need for help selecting parts please!

    With a $500 budget I'd say go for AMD. I just built a AMD X3 445 + 5770 + Biostar A880G+. Incredibly fast system, no kidding.

    Upgrading my computer

I'd say the first thing you should get upgraded is the graphics card. Otherwise you could do a complete overhaul, although I would wait for Bulldozer so theres price pressure on the Sandy Bridge chips. The socket for Nehalem and Athlon/Phenom are a bit aged now.
