Second time I've had a problem with G.Skill Memory

It was just the latency problem of slots 1 and 2, I had to set them to 9-9-9 like the other memory instead of 7-7-7.. I feel stupid for not realizing this, but now I have 16GB of memory :)

Second time I've had a problem with G.Skill Memory

Yeah my power supply isn't the problem :) and yes my motherboard lets me adjust latency's for each slot or there is a setting to set all to the same. I didn't know that about the 1333's so thank you. And you mean does it work with just using the 7-7-7 latency's? Then yes, thats what I'm using...

Second time I've had a problem with G.Skill Memory

I used the BIOS to set the timings on my working ram to 7-7-7 because thats what they were supposed to run at and they came at 9-9-9. But I only changed those settings for slot 1 and 2, not 3 and 4. I feel stupid for not realizing that I can't mix different latency's, I learned last semester...

Second time I've had a problem with G.Skill Memory

I spoke to my electronics teacher today about the memory problem and he said you can't mix different latencys and I need to set my 7latency ram to 9 like the other ram and it will work fine. I'll try it later.

Second time I've had a problem with G.Skill Memory

There was actually 2 other people in a computer class I was taking last semester that also had problems with G.Skill recently, lol. Well I know the memory sticks are compatible because like I said, I was using just 1 stick by itself before I returned them, now this time neither of them work...

Second time I've had a problem with G.Skill Memory

Yes my current memory is running at 1333 with 1.5V. When I bought that memory the came with the latency 9-9-9-27 even though it was supposed to be 7-7-7-24 so I set it manually, but thats all I've changed. and my CPU is overclocked from 3.2Ghz to 3.9Ghz, but I don't see why that would cause a...

Second time I've had a problem with G.Skill Memory

When I first built my PC, 1 of my 2 sticks of 4GB memory was defective, so I only used the 1 for a while then eventually I bought 2 more sticks of memory, put those in my computer, and sent back the defective set. I just got the set back yesterday, put them in today with the other pair and...

    Pros and Cons of SSD?

SSD's are a lot more expensive than a regular 7200rpm HDD but with reason. SSD's are a lot faster, a lot quieter, and if you are using it in a laptop it's very helpful because you won't have to worry about shaking your laptop because there isn't a spinning disc that will get scratched...

    Is DDR2 1066MHz the same as DDR3 1066MHz ?

I would buy a motherboard that supports DDR3 memory and use that, DDR2 WILL only be SLIGHTLY slower, but why buy something that is already outdated for quite a while now?

Can I add RAM with different voltage, latency, or size?

If you add slower memory than what you already have it will make all your memory sticks run at the same speed as your slowest memory stick.

    OS Hard Drive

Get an SSD with high read speeds for your OS, I don't have one now, but I will get one eventually for the same reason.

    My cpu works harder

Air dusting your CPU fan would probably help, but its normal for your CPU usage to increase at startup.

Looking for some OC advice with 1090t

Your case fans won't do enough to cool your processor if you're overclocking with a stock cpu fan. If you don't need to overclock, then don't. If you feel that you need to then I suggest you get a better fan. I never even tried the stock fan for my 1090T, but I doubt it would handle OC too...

    Video card acting weird

Yeah I agree with the fans being annoying.. mine sounds like an airplane lol.. But I have some nice speakers, so whenever I'm playing a game I just crank up my volume to drown out the fan noise. I had a problem when playing Fallout New Vegas that when I was in a big open area the game...

    Video card acting weird

maybe up your 470's fan speeds, if you're running those at the stock 40% that could be an issue, when I play games I always put the speed at 100% on my gtx 470

    video card problem

This will help when finding out if you have enough wattage on your power supply for the video card you're upgrading to. It's a power supply calculator. http://educations.newegg.com/tool/psucalc/index.html

    My New Computer

Hmm.. Well I haven't had any problems with the 470 yet, it overclocks a lot and I haven't found a game it can't handle so far. I have room to upgrade later if I decide to
