    quick question...

Very Old :) I show that the max that laptop can handle is 192MB of memory. The motherboard probably wont recognize any more than that. Here is the specs on your laptop if you dont have them already. http://www.toshiba-europe.com/bv/computers/products/notebooks/satellite4030/product.shtm

Your operating system(Windows 7) is saved on the hard drive and as long as you dont replace it you will be able to boot as normal. So you should be able to just replace and boot :)

How can I find out what is causing this problem

Worth a try! Try this. Go into the bios and go into miscellaneous settings and toggle the virtualisation and isochronous settings. Does not matter if you toggle them on or off, so long as you change them. If that doesnt work, try just restoring the bios to factory settings and see if that fixes...

    video card repair/troubleshoot

Maybe Could be either your video card or your monitor. I would test your monitor before buying a new video card just in case. Use another computer or see if your curent one has an onboard video card.

building gaming pc, which processor should i get?

Nice! The 3.0 GHz is alittle faster with the core clock speed being 1333 vs the 3.3GHz which is 1066. But the larger the cache, the longer the latency. Small caches are faster than large caches. Keep that in mind. The Intel Core 2 Duo is just a little faster then the Intel Pentium Dual-Core. :)

    internet connection

IP Conflict? It could even be an IP conflict from someone else in the network. Usually you would see a little box pop up saying "IP conflict". I see a lot of connection drops that can be solved by simply unplugging the router and plugging it back in. This will reset it and may keep you...

Will I notice a difference in gaming going to a 4 or 6 core cpu?

Cpu Only about 1% of the software still created today utilizes more then one core of the proccessor. So most likely your not going to see much of an advantage seeing that each core L2 cache size is still 512KB and both have a shared 6mb L3. You could see a small diff between the Hyperstransport...

    [BUILDING PC] Will it work?

Ram You may want to up the speed on the ram, the motherboard shown supports 1800,2000, or 2200. I think you had DDR 1600. It may still work, but the faster the memory the better. Its gonna be nice, good luck!!

How to start a web site?

Advertise! I agree with danthrax, it is very hard to make money from content because the web is so full of free information that people would just try elsewhere. If you are looking to make money online you should look into advertising on your site. You of course would still need good content to...

    computer build start up?

Once the Operating System(Windows 7) is installed and drivers for all the components are installed and working perfectly. I like to run the system for about 24 hours to let it burn in. This will allow the machine to build up heat and tell me whether or not there are enough fans in the case, and...
