Howdy,

My family are looking to build a media centre for us to view movies, pictures and surf the interweb wirelessly on out 42" plasma via HD. Now the case is an Antec NSK2400 and the criteria are:

  • The board must be LGA775 compatiable
  • The board must be able to support a Core 2 Duo
  • The board must cost under £50
  • We would prefer Asus but we are open to suggestions

By the way, what would be a good C2D priced around the current E6300 that's coming out soon?

Yeah that looks like a great mobo, one thing I dont understand is that it has 4 ram slots, but you can have a maximum of 16gb of ram. To reach that maximum the sticks of ram would have to be 4 gig each. Can you get 4 gig sticks of ram?

haha ok. I also very doubt that there would be any point in having 16 gig of ram unless you had a ridiculously good processor. otherwise it just wouldnt be worth it. a lot of the ram probably wouldnt get used.lol

do you really need all the performance a C2D can kick out, if not, investigat nano-ITX motherboards, they are the smallest ones ever priduced, some can be as small as a beer mat. There are also mini-ITX aswell, and yes, thats not a typo, ITX, not ATX
