I know its AOL so make your own decision, but this offer is free for everyone.

One year free licence from AOL and Kaspersky Antivirus.Since AOL admits to gathering info, just decline the install of the security toolbar. It's not the full KAV version- missing HTTP scanning and Pro-active Defense, but contains the same File and Mail AV and KILLER Signatures as Kaspersky 6.0.

Info- http://www.activevirusshield.com/antivirus/freeav/index.adp?/

Download- http://www.download.com/AOL-Active-Virus-Shield/3000-2239_4-10568703.html?tag=sptlt_s/

You will receive some initial spam which you can decline to receive further. So it's up to you.Free Kaspersky makes a very tempting offer.Maybe using a disposable emaill address will work- http://www.trashmail.net/

Here's another:

A German company is giving away free F-Secure Anti-Virus 2006 licenses good for 1 year.

You get the license Here- http://www.f-secure.de/chip/

It's in German but here a translation German - English

Ihre E-Mail Adresse - Your email Adress
Anrede: Herr - Mr.; Frau - Mrs.
Ihr Vorname - First Name
Ihr Nachname - Last name

Then click on 'Daten senden' and the license will be send to your e-mail.

Then, go Here- http://esd.element5.com/demoreg.html?productid=300042690&languageid=1/ and download the trial and use your key to activate for 1 year.

Would not recommend using this on older machines.Newer systems, yes, works very well and runs smoothly.

Just to show you how good these 2 antiviruses are, go here- http://www.av-comparatives.org/ and click 'Online Results' and then 'On-demand comparative February 2006'/'Online Results'. The latest May/06 testing is for 'Heuristics'- testing without updated signatures.Kaspersky is adding a 'New Heuristics Engine' which is supposed to be released in 1-2 months and will be auto updated and just require a reboot.

This testing website is widely considered even by the Antivirus Companies, the most accurate and unbiased testing forum.

The way I see it is no one has posted after you, you should edit.
There is like one or two exceptions to that. That would be like if you posted a problem, really only if you need help, and if no one responds for a few days just revive it without opening a new thread.
