its 10/100 Mbps and therefore it is likely that they limiting speed factor is you internet connection, which is not using the full bandwidth of 10Mbps, let alone 100Mbps
Try copy a huge file between 2 machines on 1 network using 10Mbps and then using 100Mbps... you'll see the difference
The internet won't seem slower because most likely your internet isn't capable of anything near 10Mbps. As apj said, try running large files over the network then try to surf the web, it should run significantly slower then.
