its much more worth it, and no, just swap out the mobo and the CPU, you'll be fine


also get a SATA2 drive

slightly over budget, but atleast twice as good as what you picked out, if you want, you can opt for a smaller harddrive... so, do i get props or what?

The Core 2 Duo will provide better performance at ... pretty much anything. The overclocking potential is also far higher.

Switch the video card to a 7600GT or X850XT PE. Both are significantly better performers with a cheaper pricetag. Don't be fooled by the 512MB of video memory - it's not overly beneficial.

I'd go with a better PSU as well. Also consider whether the sound card is worth the extra expense. The built-in sound on the motherboard is quite reasonable.

Looks good. I'd switch the board for a Gigabyte 965P-S3 and the GPU to an eVGA 7600GT, though. My comments about the PSU and Sound card are still relevent to this build.

no i don't want 667 that bad, i just thought corsair was a more reputable manufacturer. thank you ku-sama! so none of those parts should conflict with each other?
