I am new to most of this and this will be my first build. The computer will be used mainly to run cad programs (pro-e) so it needs a video card mean enough to scare little children. The bottom line is I wanna go fast and im looking to spend about $2000. This is some of the stuff ive picked out so far, remember Im new so tell me where Im throwing money away, where I should maybe spend a little more, tell me if there is a piece that is just plain silly.
The video card is really where I need some advice.

thanks Joe

okay, with 2grand here's what i would get...
e6600 (e6300 if i were overclocking, which personally i would)
two 74gb raptors with 16mb cache each, put in raid 0
a 250gb storage drive, preferably sata2 w/ 16mb cache
gigabyte DS3 motherboard (supports raid 0 and very o/cable)
g.skill memory, ddr2 800 (2x1gb or 4x1gb)
x1950xtx 512mb
two 16x dvd burners
some sort of thermaltake case, or a raidmax... around $100 though..
700watt ocz gamexstream psu..
x-fi soundcard of some sort...
a NICE LCD like 19-21" (no more than 8ms response time)
um... and some real nice 5.1 surround sound speakers. that should do it. :D

duno how much that would cost, but thats what i would get. oh, and maybe a thermaltake big typhoon too... and some case fans, or some blue led's for aesthetics... lol
