You should wait a month to build... because them Intel will be releasing a new line of kickass processors... but if u want to build now and upgrade later...

If you want to buy now and upgrade when the new processors come out:

Processor: just get a decent processor that you will only use for a month, then the best conroe when it comes out
Motherboard: Intel BOXD975XBXLKR Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 975X ATX Intel Motherboard - $250
RAM: CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel - $164
Video Card: XFX Geforce 7950GX2 1GB (Overclocked) - $609
Sound Card:Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card - $100
Optical Drive: get this in either black, beige, or silver... (depending on what case you choose) - $35
Harddrives:SAMSUNG T133 Series HD300LJ 300GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - $95
Power Supply: Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 ATX12V 550W Power Supply - $90
Case:any of these will work - (i'll say $80)
Approx:$1600 (assumming u spend about $200 on a processor... leaving u about $400 for the processor upgrade...)

If you want to buy now and not upgrade when the new processors come out:

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 FX62 Windsor 2000MHz HT 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor - $1,200
Motherboard: ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard - $210
RAM: CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel - $164
Video Card: XFX Geforce 7950GX2 1GB (Overclocked) - $609
Sound Card:Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card - $100
Optical Drive: get this in either black, beige, or silver... (depending on what case you choose) - $35
Harddrives:SAMSUNG T133 Series HD300LJ 300GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - $95
Power Supply: Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-550 ATX12V 550W Power Supply - $90
Case:any of these will work - (i'll say $80)
Approx $2,550
other people will tell you waht to cut off to make it cheap... since i have to go eat:)

Or what i recomend is that u just wait until the new processors come out and ask us then...

Or if he is considering doing some heavy overclocking, he can get watercooling. That would be a good idea for a quite PC.
