Acer Aspire AS7750G vs HP Pavilion dv7-6c90us

I do photo editing and video too a little.

Lightroom, Photoshop and Vegas Pro 10 for now.

Like both alot, and there is only $50 between them, so...

Which one is the better buy?

For me:

Acer-
Pros-Better Graphics Card, dual 500GB hard drives (the possibilities!) 4 DIMMS of memory with 8GB already (2x4GB)
Cons: no blu ray, no fingerprint scanner, only 1 USB 3.0

HP-
Pros: Beats Audio, Blu Ray, fingerprint scanner
Cons: , doesnt have the 2x500GB hard drives, lesser graphics card

So which one is better for my application and why?
 
I believe that the HP has better intergrated graphics.

I would go for the HP over the Acer. The HP is going to offer, brushed-aluminum finish, better build quality, features, and support.

Im not a fan of any particular manufacture, HP, Acer, Sony, Dell, etc, etc.. just ones that offer more for less.

Edit: I have an Acer (ASPIRE 7560-Sb416), and its a good laptop, performance wise. But the quality, and durability of it, sucks. But like I said, performance wise, its great, get on average 30fps in WoW, max.

I personally would not go with either. Acer and HP as well as their subcompanies of Emachines, Compaq, and Gateway are not quality computers at all.

I think some of the better companies are Dell, Toshiba, MSI, Sony, Lenovo and probably a few more.

Any computers made by Dell, Toshiba, MSI, Sony, Lenovo that are the same specs as these?
 
I say go with the HP, my brother and I both have HP's and he does some video editing, I edit videos and pictures daily and sometimes both at the same time, I'm going on 2 years strong with mine and have never had an issue
 
people always come out of the woodwork with this. Just because you don't have problems does not mean that it is a good company or that you will not have problems in the future. It is widely known that HP has some of the worst customer service in the industry and that they have the highest fail rate.

I can't really argue much on the resolutions, but I think 1080p is what you should look for on a 17". I know its a fairly good picture on a 17" screen @ 1920*1200.

Anyway back to the brands and such. I looked around for good ones at about the same price as the ones you were looking at.

Dont go on this^.

Maybe they have a high rate because they sell more then any other manufacture in the world, and lets not forget that HP has been in the game longer then all the rest.

The top 3 laptop manufacture todate are, Apple, Lenovo, and HP. MSI and Toshiba are 9th and 10th. If you dont sell alot of laptops, then of course, your not going to get alot of malfunction rate returns.

I recommended the HP because thats what he asked, Acer or HP, and out the two, HP. But, if he's in the market for any laptop, then I would most definitely recommend a ASUS laptop, there not well know to the public, but are well know and respected as one of the top manufactures for the gaming enthusiast, and computer savvy alike.There product is top notch, with outstanding support.
