I have a GeForce 6200A which runs Half-Life 2 map d3_breen_01 (while looking at Breen's bubble) with highest possible settings (res 1440x900) except w/o AntiAliasing and Trilinear texture filtering at ~10 FPS.
So, can a GeForce 7600GT (or another lower end card) make it go >40 FPS with highest settings (AA 2x, AF 4x/8x, 1280x800 or maybe 1440x900) (I have widescreen
))? If there are lower end card that can do it (nVIDIA only), please state it.
I tried ForceWare 8 series (84.21) and it ran HL2 faster but with shadow glitches (the shadow of objects are slow to update (and leave trails of old shadows) and sometimes its just a square shadow).
NOTE: My LCD has a native resolution of 1400x900 and that's pretty high!
PS: Am I a mid-gamer or super gamer (according to above)?
EDIT
Right now I'm running ForceWare 93.71.
