hey all, i have a wii, and over the past few days, my parents were complaining about the wii annoying them in the living room. i want to connect the wii to my computer, and i have an ati x800xl card, is it possible? i am asking this because the card came with a composite to svideo adapter... so if i connected my wii composite cables to the adapter, and connect it to my video card, would the Wii games show up on the pc monitor?

thanks a lot for clarification!

Sure, As long a you have some sort of tv tuner like card, or something with composite (or otherwise) inputs, as video cards normally only have output signals. I don't recommend a S-video to composite signal though, I've tried with a console and it looked like ass. Spend alittle bit of money of a Digital-digital adapter. (Wii has those right, HD outputs?)

EDIT:Component, not composite, my bad

wii only has 480p and 480i, and its either composite cables or component cables. the graphics suck!!!!!! but the games RULE! and whats a Digital-digital adapter?

It's an adapter that holds a completely digital signal, no converting to analog. But you said It has component cables? You can use that, in stead, and hook it into an component input on you're computer. You'd need a card to do that, but it shouldn't look as bad if you'd have used the S-vid adapter.

can u suggest a cheap card that can do that?

i cant use the svideo converter because it is only output, my card can't capture..well atleast i dont think so
