ok so i was wanting to know the stock Alienware M17x laptop is $1,799. i want to buy a good gaming laptop.. one that can play all the games out now and the new games to come.. i would like to play these games on the best graphics if possible.
now is the asking price for the stock m17 worth that much ? here are the specs.
Intel® CoreTM i7 740QM (1.73GHz/6MB cache),
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
17-inch WideXGA+ 1440 x 900 (900p)
4GB3 Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz
320GB4 SATA II hard drive (RPM) (7200RPM)
1024 (MB) ATI HD5870 Mobility RadeonTM
Slot-Load Dual Layer DVD Burner (DVD+-RW, CD-RW)
Wireless 1520 802.11n Half Mini-Card
now i want to know a couple things.
with this computer just stock do you think it could run Starcraft 2 at the highest graphic settings with no lag?? even on 2v2 in a 30 min game? (a lot of units/stuff going on)
could it run fps like black ops or modern warfare 2 at highest graphic setting with no lag?
this list could go on but ill get a good idea of what this computer can handle with these 3 games.
one last thing i may have enough money to upgrade this a lil .. if i can what upgrade would make the biggest difference in performance for gaming?
i could possibly get duel 1024 (MB) ATI HD5870 Mobility RadeonTM graphic cards which adds $450 to the price i believe..
or i could upgrade the processor to this Intel® Core™ i7 840QM Quad Core Processor, 1.86GHz (3.20GHz Turbo Mode, 6M Cache) for $625 more.
i think the graphics card upgrade would be better but correct me if im wrong.. also how big of a difference would each of these upgrades make for gaming?
i may also upgrade the screen to this 17-inch WideUXGA 1920 x 1200 RGB LED (1200p) for $200 more ... but let me know what you all think..
THANKS!:good:
