alternative on/off switch?

i'm building a computer in a cardboard box out of spare parts. what can i use as an on/off switch? i thought maybe jumping the motherboard w/ a wire, but it doesnt work. will a simple push button switch work?

it's just a momentary connection. If touching the wire across the pins didn't work then make sure the board works. A push button at radio shack should be find as long as it's a momentary button and not like a switch that keeps the connection until you turn it off.
