Amd Sempron 2800+

Hi i recently recently baught an Amd Sempron 2800 754 socket =1.61 ghz .

Well i play bf2 with 768 ram 256 mb geforce 5500 3d fuzion fx video card and an gigabyte-ga-k8vm800m motherboard.But i am a gamer i love gaming thats my thing i want to overclok my cpu but im scared that ill frie it or somethin plz give me some edvice.:eek:
 
Thanks but will i do soem damge i mean my dad said i srew thise cpu up my pc is gonna be sold i broke an amd athlon 3200+.
 
i overclocked my AMD Sempron 3000+ from 1.8 ghz to 2.25 ghz without any touble, it really didn't get much hotter and i'm still using the stock cooler.
 
As long as your keep an eye on the temperature, and don't push the voltage too hard, you should be fine. however, even if you OC the cpu, your graphics card will still bottleneck the game.
 
depends on the processor i got my sempron 3400 from 2ghz to 2.6 stable on stock cooling(i took it down to 2.5 because i like low temps)semprons are fairly good beginner overclockers so expect anywhere from 1.8-2.2ghz of a clock? dont quote me on that tho
 
Hi. guys guess what.I burnt my cpu,i tried to run it at 2.20 ghz.But when i botted it up blank monitor.My dad was on my case.Because I half to use my dads 1 gig ram/512 1600pro vc/amd atlon 3000+ cpu computer so hes scared I might brake his computer.But its true my dad said leave the thing alone.Ive been crying all day and weeks couldnt even enjoy thanksgiving.
Would this effect motherboard.

Have any 754 socket amd cpus for sale im paying about 50-110$

It might not be burned, you might have just went to far, (clear the bios and see if it boots) there shoud be a jumper near the battery, move it to clear for a few minutes then back, if not just take the battery out for a few then put back in!
 
k but if i some how put it in the wrong way will it burn my motherboard.
i need my motherboard. Then i would be messed up no cpu no motherboad.I would half to by a brand new conputer.
 
No offense, but if you don't know how to put a battery in, you shouldn't be messing around with your computer.

It's a watch battery! You can't get a shock like that from it. Did you turn off the computer and unplug it before trying that?
