Yeah, that will be fine for going from your XBox to your router... you would only need a crossover cable if you were going directly from your 360 to your computer with nothing in between.

Yes, yes you can. Now by router, you mean a wireless router (with open network cable slots of course) that's connected to a cable modem right? If so then yes you can connect you're 360 to it.
