Anyone Play Day of Defeat: Source

I used to but somehow, sometimes when I'm connecting to a server, the gmae crashes and I have to press the On/Off button on my computer... Don't know what the problem is... I added RAM but I haven't tried it since then. I'll re-install it and I'll see, I love that game :D
 
I have it and used to play all the time, but since TF2 came out I rarely play. I may play this morning though now that you bring it up.
 
i wish steam would let you take a trial of their games..ive wanted to try out DOD:S.
 
I do. I do. I haven't played it much like cuz Omega said, and also have had no one to play with.
 
I am happy to tell you that DOD:S runs good on my computer and that i did not get any problems at all, played it for an hour. Excellent game, I love the realistic weapons, when you shoot it doesn't Always goes straight :D.

It's a great game, I haven't played in ages though. Reading this makes me want to, but I think I'll get back to COD4.
 
DoD was wayyyy better pre-retail box. back in the 1.3b/2.0 days, i can honestly say it was the best multiplayer game ive ever played. it is still a lot of fun but the community isnt the same as it used to be
 
I play. When I got it I didn't really touch CSS at all, instead I could play DOD:S for hours on end. Then I took a break and recently I've started playing it again a bit since I was getting terrible lag when playing any Steam game online.
 
I used to play it all the time as a break from CS:S but got tired with downloading 500 versions of "Monsterkill.wav" everytime I connected so have now moved on to COD4 and TF2.
 
I love how you can have sniper duels where you have a battle of wits and reflexes against the enemy team's sniper knowing that he could be hiding anywhere. The best feeling is pulling of a headshot and seeing that Wehrmacht helmet roll down the hill whilst a bullet skims past you. It's so much more rewarding than "BOOM headshot" because it actually requires a decent amount of skill.

:eek: i know what you mean, i HATE servers that play that crap every 5 seconds

Yes I guess we like the same thing :D. My favorite thing to do in any FPS is to snipe, and with that headshot action it's so much fun :D. I love when you kill a sniper in a church and you see his helmet falling down the church :D It's so realistic :P
 
Dod_flash usually offers great sniper duels. You have to have really good reflexes and I tend to "use" others to see if there's a sniper around the corner. No use in running out there yourself just to get shot and then the guy behind you gets shot too. :P
