Anyone Play Gauntlet still?

I recently got my hands on the Classic 1986 Arcade Version of Gauntlet II for personal computer. It gets crowded with three people around the keyboard, but it sure is fun. I like the Elf over the other characters, but I like also using the Warrior sometimes.

So far, we have only managed to get to Level 26. I will post a screen shot later.

It is very fun because of the cooperation factor. If you plugged two keyboards into a desktop computer would both work? It is too crowded for four players around one keyboard.

I am still having a lot of fun playing Gauntlet II with others. Since it is the exact arcade replica you can give yourself 750 health points anytime just by pushing a button on your keyboard. This was done by putting quarters into the machine in the arcade.

We established rules for getting more health. All players start with 3,000 heath points. Extra 750 health point increments can be earned by doing the following:

Consuming food (only once per level)
Scoring 50,000 points
Surviving 5 levels

It is hard to believe this game is only 640 kilobytes in file size.

We need a new Gauntlet. Gauntlet legends on the Dreamcast was pretty cool.

The only thing I can think of presently that I don't like about Gauntlet II 1986 Arcade Version is how you constantly lose health even if you are just standing there doing nothing. You lose one point of health per second. It is obviously programmed that way so you would pump more quarters into the arcade machine.

The graphics are even good for it being a 1986 video game. The Nintendo Entertainment System graphics for Gauntlet II were awful in comparison to the arcade version.
