has anyone been on any teams/clans/guilds that have been sponsored by big name brands and/or have you played professionally?

Only time for me was when I was playing counter strike back in the day, this was back in cs 1.5 I was playing professionally for team Nerve, and Pinnacle.
Once 1.6 came, Pinnacle was finished cause they were a bunch of homos argueing how source ****ed everything up, etc, change of recoil etc etc. I still played with Nerve, had our own internet cafe called nerve here in vancouver british columbia, but we also broke apart as well. Anyone who has been playing CS for a while should know about these teams, Ive played against zex, 3D, other huge names years ago but never got the chance to go to the CPL. We were sponsored by Nvidia, Steelpad mousepads, Altec sound, and few others, of course free server n website sponsoring n all that.

Anyone else?

I had the opp to be in a sponsored Battlefield 2: MC (Xbox 360) clan but I didn't go through with it. My dream in life is to be a pro gamer, so I'll get there eventually...

i was in 101st, a day of defeat clan, back when they were at their best... not a very well known game compared to some but it used to be incredible pre source

Isn't CAL competitive.......? o,o

Anyways, it was when I was in a clan that was competitive at the time. But I quit since then and then clan went way downhill; owner was a real d-bag.

Btw, the clan name is Double Flux and send them my regards on how much I hate it/them. F you Bear.

CAL is still competative.
Just not nessecarily pro (unless youre near the top).

That was a little harsh macsire

^^^yeah but, if you say you have played SOME cal scrims, how is that not the dumbest post ever
thats far from playing professionally, like what the thread title entales.
you cant be on a sponsored/pro team if you play "some" cal scrims. lol

I haven't played pro, but I've been asked if I do.

And also, your obviously new, don't treat members like that, especially elder members.

If you're looking for 'Pro' players, you're probably looking in the wrong place.......

By your criteria, I doubt you'd get any posts....

Try getting off your high throne......

lol well it must enflate macscribes ego by bragging on the internet about how he plays pro at his computer screen

you must really have highly developed social skills eh macscribe

Define Pro?

I know a ton of guys are on par with a bunch 'pro' players but they just don't make it their life ambition to get sponsored or anything....... (No offense to those who do.......)

*Tips hat to Mr. Wiggles and Clan Dismay......*

Edit: Like I said before, Double Flux used to be a very competitive clan; they just never really got sponsored by anyone.

I was in a clan in Medal of Honor Allied Assualt, 2nd Rangers, Sponsered by Monster and ATI. I was like 200th in the clan though and that was about 3 years ago.
Now I play CS:S and DOD:S and searching for a clan

we had a member that made it in Xbox magazine, GAZBEROTTEN. He left a while back though and hasn't been on, he tried showing his accomplishment in the magazine and one of the mods here ran him away, I would think out of jealousy.

Trust me, it was not out of jealousy. He posted it over and over again and was just trying to brag or something of the sort.

Going along with the thread.
Back when I played cs and css a lot, I was asked a few times to play 'professionally'.
I never went through with it. I preferred to play in pubs with friends, way to much drama in leagues and all that.
