ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler

I have been looking in other threads about this CPU cooler, and people said that the stock artic cooling thermal compound was much better than the artic silver 5.

Maybe they applied it wrong?

I am using it for a 3.6ghz pentium D

Thanks,

Dan

I used the Freezer 7 Pro on my Pentium D 930, it's a decent cooler but it's too tall IMO, and causes stress on the motherboard which actually bent it slightly.

As for the thermal compound, AS5 should be better, but it may be because they applied it wrong, and didnt spread across the entire CPU heatspreader.

Most people have good results, just in my case the top-heavy cooler bent the board slightly, which caused the bottom of the heatsink to lose contact slightly with the CPU.

as5 works fine, the issue is not applyign as5, the issue is removing the cooler to add more or reapply the as5, the cooler is very very fragile and gets damaged very easily, with the stock paste, my temps are lower than with the as5. not much lower but lower. i recommend using that.

Yeah, the stock paste on it was Ok, but I do get better results with the AS5...

Can you use alcohol wipes to clean the HSF and CPU?
