haven't been doing any in a while. one computer was striped naked and clean installation. it was xp pro 32 bit. im going to install some of the more general software my wife uses. get software installed and updated for stuff like embroidery machine, some favorites in firefox, mail accounts set up and want to back up now before she gets going. i do not have a problem with buying. im asking if freeware works well for both or pay ver, what is it. im flexible here. dont care as long as it works. backup for 64 bit is a must.

thanks

I haven't tried the Windows 7 backup software (still on shitty Vista for now). But i'm using this program called Oops!Backup from Altaro. It's pretty damn decent and does what i need it to do. It doesn't slow down the computer (my home laptop is a piece of shit) and it saves the changes you make to your files so you can go back in time. It's not expensive so i would give it a look if you are not happy with 7's. x

Vista has practically the same backup features as 7. No need to install unnecessary 3rd party software and waste your money.
