I've been playing this game for a few weeks now and I must say I really like it.

I was playing an MMOFPS called planetside for a long time, but get a bit tired of it since the outfit I played with migrated over to playing DDO (Dungeons and Dragons Online).

2142 Has what I loved about planetside, incentive to play. You start off as a recruit and have to upgrade your character based on how many points you earn in the game to work your way up the ranks, and get unlocks to make your player more powerful.

Likewise, the graphics are nice and the gameplay itself is really fun. Like Battlefield 2, you can drive tanks and fly planes etc. 2142, however, had the addition of battle mechs that are, to say the least, a real blast to play with.

Does anyone else share the love of Battlefield 2142 that I have, and if so what servers do you play on? I'm wanting to get with an outfit/clan whatever you want to call it ... but I can't find one that I really want to join yet. Hell we could get one started if there is enough interest on these forums.

If you've never played it, give the demo a try. It's a blast.
 
I just got the game in a lot of computer hardware/software... I might try it out, although I'm afraid to get addicted to something that will eat up all of my time.
 
yeah fair warning, as soon as you start working your way up the ranks you will want to play more and more to keep ranking up. Let me know if you get into it and I'll show you the ropes and help you rank up more quickly.

The trick is be a medic and revive every person you see. Easy points. Of course there are so many different awards and pins that you can get, so it helps to do a little bit of everything so you can be a more well rounded soldier.

don't ever just run around reviving people this is probably one of the most annoying thing to experienced people playing in pubs. Please always clear the area of enemies before reviving any solider chances are if you see someone get hit that there killer is still there watching and will just wait for some noob to come revive the injured person and that's two more easy kills and another 15 seconds that guy has to wait!

yeah i generally squad up and rev my squad while running around with them capturing bases. Always kill everyone first for sure. You play? Where at?

not as much 2142 as bf2 but I've played it a couple times seems like a good game but I'm still attached to bf2 although my clans in both
