Thats a very good cheap card, you might want to consider saving up a little more cash to get this card. You could always try like a 6600GT or an X1300.

You could, but the 7600GS performs alot better.

I'd save up the extra $15, the 7600GS is well worth it. You may be able to find it cheaper elsewhere, I only linked to newegg because it was convenient.

Good value card that perfoems quite well($79): 7300GT

Great card for the price, this one's a bargain($97.99): 6800XT

Another good choice, and this one has 512MB VRam(256MB onboard)($75): 7300GS

The 6800xt really isn't that great, the 1st one, 7300gt i believe, is worse than the 7600gt, which is only 2 bucks more after mail in rebates.

@breakthesilenc21: If i were you, I would save up the extra 15 bucks and get the 7600gt, its alot better.

LOL, sorry but where I live everything is rediculously overpriced! A 7300GT would set me back €150($195) whereas a 7600GT would set me back €229($295)!!

thats not a 7600gt its a 7600gs. 7600gt is like $150 or around there
get either the 7600gt or the x1600pro.
ask omega though, their specs are close, hes had both before i believe... he'd know.
duno if it helps but these people suggest a more expensive 7600gt (not gs)

i guess they like the 7600gs better than the x1600pro...

i think i made a typo on that, not the 7600gt, but the 7600GS, which i believe the cheapest is 99 bucks..

btw sorry for the double post..

Any of the 7300 cards are pretty much crap. You could get a much better card in a 6800 or 7600 series, or even 6600 series. But not 7300.

The 7600GS is better than any of those cards (although slightly more expensive as well): http://www.hardwarezone.com/articles/view.php?id=1856&cid=3&pg=11

Geoff (Omega) has had the 7600GS and X1600Pro, and much preferred the 7600GS IIRC.

If a 7600GS is pushing the budget, a 7600GT is likely out of the question.

7300GT is better than the 7600GS
Judging only by performance, the 7600GS wins easily. Normally I don't like GPU Review that much, but in this case the point is clear:

OUCH! Can you order elsewhere? Even here in Australia prices are FAR cheaper than that.

Who do you go to for these prices?! You could try Ebay, I don't know of any retailers that would ship to you.

if you can't get something above the 7300 in benchmarks then don't bother with a new video card. 7300 is very close to the lowest of the low. in fact, id guess its worse than a 9600xt... which in considered VERY old.
its not worth advancing from whatever you have to get the 7300 series.
if you MUST... if your current video card simply won't do anything you try to, then i suggest something of the 6600's
If a 7600GS is pushing the budget, a 7600GT is likely out of the question.
didn't say it wasnt.. i said the people on that forum suggest a 7600gt...
of course, i do too.. but w/e

i would recommend saving up and getting a 6600gt or 6800xt. these are both good probably cost about $150 . Its not worth updating your card if you get a cheap one because the new games wil run very crappily. yeh definately save up i got A 6800 FOR £100 and is very good, plays battlefield, oblivion etc very nicely
