BF BC2 account help

Ok I bought the game off steam. I click multiplayer, I fill out the info for my account. It does not ask for a solider name. I click create, and after acouple seconds it says account name taken. But its using my steam account name, e6013. I cant change it. (BTW e6013 is a type of welding electrode, not random) Is there anything I can do, or am I stuck with singleplayer? A problem so simple, they cant fix? I have found no help from steam support and EA will probably not help. I only bought the game for multiplayer, the campaign sucks. Any help would be appreciated. Create using different name and email (if it needs one).

Create using different name and email (if it needs one).

I cant use another name, thats the problem. Im not that stupid. Email wont do anything. Its no letting me change it, its from steam, its trying to use my steam account name, and it is taken.

Try changing your steam name? You can change your screen ID but your account name that you login with is the same.
