BF2 won't run

I ran BF2 last night, and I got to the part where you enter your account info and it says "Connecting to Account Server". I was at a stop-point there for about 5min. I closed it and ran it about 3 more times, and it got to the black the black screen before the EA logo and the Dice Logo, I was stopped there for quiet a while. My internet connection was out last night, but I don't see why Single Player wouldn't work.

You might not want to hear this, but the same thing happened to me, and I never got it to work, so help us both!

Try re install or is there a possiblity its a hardware issue?

I have changed no hardware, I have tried to re-install and it froze before going to where it installs DX9.

Just for the heck of it try running some anti-malware scans. (Anti-virus\anti-spyware)

I was thinking it could be the Klez Worm, which should be obselete. I have McAfee which takes forever to scan, can someone recommend something?

I recommend AVG's Anti-Spyware and Anti-Virus. both are free I suggest you ditch McAfee.

it is usually a good practice to have several anti-spyware program in your comp... this is so that the other program might have pick up something that the rest don't... don't forget to run either CCleaner or RegCleaner after you run the spyware removal program to completely remove any spyware residue that might have been left behind in the registry...

I ran CCleaner but, I do need to get some more stuff. I question how I got this Worm, if so, could it be through a server on BF2? I noticed something about a server, I was kicked from it and BF2 didn't work for about 3 days and then it started working again. It was on one particular server, I am gonna ask the forum what I should do.

i have avg on my pc, not for very long though,i scanned the other night and no threats, but thats not the point, i am not having problems whith bf2(well except when im on internet shuts off on to screen sometimes thats it)
