BFG 6600 GT OC 128mb

AWSOME CARD...very happy with it...but i would like to soon upgrade to something like XFX GeForce 6800 Xtreme / 256MB GDDR3 do u think it is worth it? o should i just SLI and hget another 6600?

plus...is it normal to only get 60fps on CS 1.6 with this card?

The 6800XT stinks...it has 8 pipelines instead of the 12 the 6800vanilla has, so you won't see much increase in performance.

if ugo up to a 6800 i would get the 7600gt same price and is substancially beter with 3.0 pixel shaders and faster gpu and is a great card and yes it must i play fear and the most i get is 84 and the lowest i get is 12 and m medeum is 42 and fear is a beter looking game and has great phisx

I would upgrade GPU's radther then SLI them in your situation ebcuase your card only ha 128MB of ram. If you have the money go for a good 512MB card so in the future you can just SLI, but realisitcly you should be able to get a 256MB card and SLI then later too. I would look at the 7600GT also mentioned in another post.

agreed, i would not get two cards like that when you could get one and it would kick the two you have, plus if you get a good one now, you can get another later and then sli that

Except when he does decide to SLI the 7600GT(if he were to get it), then the answer will be the same, "why SLI it when you could get a better card and get another one later to SLI." That being said, I still vote for the 7600GT, since it will perform better than two 6600GT 128mb's(don't qoute me on that...). I almost wish I had gotten the 7600GT instead of my X700 Pro, but I don't really care since I'm getting the 8600GT(?) when it comes out with DX10 Support
