Bought an SSD, can't find my Windows 7 CD

Well I was all excited to install my new Crucial M4 64gb ssd drive but just spent the last 2 hours searching for my Windows 7 CD. I'm pretty sure it got ripped off as I can't find my Vista CD either or either case. So pissed cuz I had it just 3 weeks ago to build my new system :( . Anyway, just wondering what my best options would be.

I have acronis home version and thought maybe I could get my current drive data down to less than 60gb and then do a clone. Of course I've never done a clone/ghost before so I'm just guessing about how this might work.

Questions I have before proceeding:
1) Is there any way to get a replacement Win 7 cd?
2) If no replacement, is it worth it to buy a new Win 7 license?
3) Can I clone my current drive as described above or is it not worth the hassle?

All thoughts appreciated. TIA.

thx for the quick reply. Since I don't have the case either, where can I find the product key? Is it the same as the product ID listed in system properties? Also, this was the upgrade version of 7 so the product key didn't work on my last install. I had to call microsoft support and jump through a bunch of hoops before my license became active. thx again.

no. The product ID is not it. If you don't have the key code, you will have to buy a new one. Thats $99 minimum unless you are a student.

You could clone your drive, but a clean install is the best way to get teh most from your SSD. A clone install will not install trim support or any of the other SSD tweaks in windows 7.
