Building a laptop?

I was hoping to gain some information here about building laptops(and I didn't want to derail the thread where the subject came to light). If it's possible, what tools to get, where to look, prices, what to search for, warranty information, etc. Anything and everything you know about laptop building is welcome.

As for what you need on top of that, you need RAM, HDD(s), a CPU, and the screwdrivers and such to assemble it.

Can you buy laptop parts seperately or elsewhere? Or does it all have to come from the same place?

Why are the barebone thingies so expensive? What is barebone? Also, I have not seen laptop gpus and cpus sold anywhere as parts, how come?

As for what a barebones is, it is the GPU, Motherboard, case, battery, and LCD. They are expensive because they are a niche product.
