That's kinda a loaded question.... About the Motherboard/Case, ATX fits wiht ATX microATX fits with microATX, ect. just read the specs. Each motherboard has a specific socket, the more common ones are 462[A] for AMD Athlon or Athlon XP, 754 for Athlon 64, 940 and 939 for Athlon 64 FX, 478 for Pentium 4/Intel Celeron, 370 for older Celeron, and 775 for Pentium HT. Fit the socket to the correct processor. About the RAM, if your motherboard has DDR get DDRRAM. Just match the components.

try to get all your chipset fixed it mean try your best to let all your Hardware'chipset comes from same manufacture but comfirm it is really a good chipset before doing anything!!
Intel's chipset is a pretty good choice !
