Call of Duty 4 patch?

Just wondering if anyone here bought the downloadable version of CoD4 from gamestop. It's just kind of irritating because theres a new patch out and I can't seem to install it because apparently I can only install it with a "compatible version" from my retailer (gamestop) because I have a "digitally downloaded version." They don't have the patch for download on there site though :(

Was anyone able to figure this out?
 
I just got the latest patch and it makes the SP game laggy, even when I turn the res, AA and textures down! :(

How do I un-install it?
 
you wont be able to play some severs on-line without the patch and eventually most of them because the severs will change to the new patch
 
Yeah, I know...
I managed to un-install it though, works fine again now! Seriously, I wouldn't get it, it made my game laggy, no matter what settings I had...
 
On the InfitityWard forums one of the moderators was saying this isn't a necessary patch client side. He said if you don't patch you should still be able to connect to servers that have patched.

I can still connect every server and I haven't patched. Gamestop doesn't have the patch available for download :mad:
