Here are the specs for a comp I am looking into buying. I am totally new at gaming PC's, and I need a little help.

Case: Cooler Master Elite 431 Mid-Tower Gaming Case w/ Side-Panel Window
CPU: AMD FX-4100 3.60 GHz Quad-Core AM3+ CPU 4MB L2 Cache & Turbo Core Technology
Cooling Fan: Asetek 510LC Liquid Cooling System 120MM Radiator & Fan (Enhanced Cooling Performance + Extreme Silent at 20dBA) (Single Standard 120MM Fan)
Motherboard: * [CrossFireX] GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3 AMD 970 Socket AM3+ ATX Mainboard w/ On/Off Charge, 7.1 Audio, GbLAN, USB3.0, SATA-III RAID, 2 Gen2 PCIe X16, 3 PCIe X1 & 2 PCI
Memory: 8GB (4GBx2) DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory (Corsair XMS with Heat Spreader)
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 6450 1GB 16X PCIe Video Card (Major Brand Powered by AMD)
Power Supply: 450 Watts - Standard Case Power Supply
Hard Drive: 500GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Hard Drive)

I dont mind running games like BF3 or Diablo 3 on low settings with a low resolution, I just want to be able to run them smoothly. Can I do it with this setup?

Not with a 6450 you won't run BF3 very well. 6770 maybe at low settings. Recommended card for BF3 is a 6950. You'll need a different power supply as well.

The graphics and power supply suck. You wont be playing much games with it. Watch some tutorials on youtube on building a computer. You can build a way better one for less money.

edit- johnb35 beat me to it

I have the exact same card and I get framerates of 20 FPS on bioshock 2 on medium settings... its a pretty terrible card.

Upgrade your graphics card to something like a 6870 or something better.

Also your Power Supply isn't that powerful. You might want to upgrade that soon. If you're planning on upgrading this in the future then 450W isn't enough. Get at least 600W.

What about this setup?

CPU: AMD FX-4100 3.60 GHz Quad-Core AM3+ CPU 4MB L2 Cache & Turbo Core Technology
Motherboard: * [CrossFireX] GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3 AMD 970 Socket AM3+ ATX Mainboard w/ On/Off Charge, 7.1 Audio, GbLAN, USB3.0, SATA-III RAID, 2 Gen2 PCIe X16, 3 PCIe X1 & 2 PCI
Memory: 8GB (4GBx2) DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory (Corsair XMS with Heat Spreader)
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 7770 1GB 16X PCIe 3.0 Video Card (Major Brand Powered by AMD)
Power Supply: 600 Watts - Standard Power Supply - SLI/CrossFireX Ready
Hard Drive: 1TB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 32MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Drive)

Would need to know the exact model number of power supply. Some cheap 600 watt units may only actually have 480 watts.

If its a standard power supply it probably is rubbish thus John's question. As you probably know its the 12V rail amperage that is important, so without detail it is impossible to answer your question.
