I remember playing a demo for a game whose name I can't remember...it was around '99 or '00, it was a pretty open-ended first person shooter in which the player was in a really rough gangbanger territory neighborhood, and he would react to characters around him by pressing the 'Y' or 'N' keys on the keyboard. For instance, the player would walk up to this hustler on a streetcorner and when he presses the action key, the guy might respond "Ey, yo man, you want a crowbar for a dollah?" and the player of course had the opportunity to respond yes or no.
This was one of the first games to feature realistic physics, like visible exit wounds and being able to target specific bodyparts and such. Also, NPCs reactions to the player in-game would depend on whether or not the player had his weapon out or not. i remember specifically shooting this guy, putting my weapon away, and then a woman approached me like "Yo, you TOASTED that *%$&!!" and when I pulled out my gun she immediately went "Yo, BACK OFF MOTHA %$#@!!!"
Can anybody name it??? I HAVE to play it again...
