Capture card..

I have a friend thats planning on purchasing an external capture card, and when I bought one I know I had a million and a half headaches trying to get it to work.

Anyone know the most simplistic way to capture video from a projector to a laptop? His projector has almost ever hook-up except component..

Just about any capture card you get will have both RCA and S-Video. Technically S Video's better, but most of the time, either will work with basically the same quality.

As for configuring them, my USB 1.1 capture card is a snap to setup. However, newer ones do seem to be more complicated. I know dad got this one and it wouldn't ever capture more than about 15 minutes(usally less) before totally locking up the program.

Since I guess you're basially limited to USB, just look around on Newegg and read lots of reviews. I don't know of a good one right off, but it shouldn't be too hard to single them out.

For the record, dad's was an ADS or something like that...
