BFBC2 will be a strain on your system. Story mode is really good in it though.
Why not get both 
COD4 should run fine maxed on that system,
BC2 it is demanding and runs better on Quad cores,You might get away with medium in DX10 mode with that graphics card depending on your res...to get better performance you can edit the games settings file and make it run in DX9 mode instead

Lot of people really....last I was on 200+ servers were on my list. Mind you this was based only on "team deathmatch" results as I prefer it. (there are more if you have all game types enabled) Most view COD4 as one of the best in the series...so its like country strike, it will last a long time lol.

Well most new games are between $50-60. My money is going to be $60 since Medal of Honor has a big following.

My vote is for BC2. The destructible terrain is awesome, it really sets the bar for FPS games. I like COD4 too, though, but I play a lot more BC.
Also, Medal of Honor's beta starts tomorrow, so you can give that a try.

Played and been addicted to both. If you like the exact same game every time, play cod4. its a solid game that has definite appeal.
If you like variety, literally tens of different ways to play the online game, bfbc2 is the game for you. be a sniper, a heavy gunner, assault, mechanic, pilot, tank operator, tank gunner, anything at all. the graphics are great, the destructible environments add an entire new level to the gameplay, its very good!
i obviously vote bfbc2. take my advice, you will not regret it :good:

and if you look at the server list, there are 1000+. With the filters I use (no empty, no full, no mods, pb on, hardcore) there are 400-500 in the list. You can see on gametracker just how many servers there are and how many are popualted:

As much as I liked BC2, it got old pretty fast, and it doesn't feel as "clean and refined" as CoD does. I loved, and still do love, CoD4, and if competative or clan gaming is your thing, there are still so so many going and still so many leagues out there, so you can get in one just to have a few games and a laugh with the same people, or you can join one to get into competative gaming, or both
