I have started receiving pop up and internet pages saying my computer is infected with last version of internet trojan (iworm-attck-v122.02a) Some others remote computer (ip address: 195.126.181.11) gained full control over your system. Says my default security has no control over it. All say I need to scan my system with their scan, then buy their product. The products are:
winantivirus
antivirus gold
virus blast
antivirusgolden.com/?aid=1331
These are a few of the ones I wrote down, there are others. It seem like if I don't buy their product my comp will completely stop. I need any and all the help I can get. I went through your sticky and nothing worked. As I type pop ups stop my typing till I clear them.
SOME HELP PLEASE

It sounds like you got with some adwares where you may want to run a pair of free programs that have been shown effective repeatedly. For adwares, browser hijackers, data miners(track your browsing history-generates spam) grab the free AdAware SE Personal found at Lavasoft For an excellent free antivirus utility that can even alert you on trojans even when disabled from the startup list AVG 7.1 Free edition can be downloaded free at AVG Free Advisor: AVG Anti-Virus Free

Thanks everyone I finally got everything off and back to normal. Hope that never happens again. I think I aged a year just worrying with it. I used all the steps in the sticky, plus several others, then I finally got it to do a system restore. It would only go back 4 days but it worked.
Thank You
mailliw

not back to normal

I used safe mode to remove the ones I was told to, but I still have bugs. Would it be best to post a new log file of HiJack This, or to post results of Kaspersky scan?
Thanks
mailliw

As you see, System Restore is fine for fixing windows files but not infections.Post the Kaspersky scan and a new HJT log.

I see you already have Ewido, but you will need these also.

Download ATF-Cleaner to your desktop from this link
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/19/2/ You will need it later in safe mode.

Download, install and update this free trial from Webroot Spysweeper http://www.webroot.com/shoppingcart/tryme.php?bjpc=64011&vcode=DT14

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :

Restart your computer

After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;

Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;

Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".

Choose your usual account.
Make sure no security programs are running.

Now open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

Run Ewido and let it delete all that it finds
Run Spysweeper and let it delete what it finds.
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

Reboot into normal windows and purge the restore folder by going to 'Control Panel/ System/System Restore' and check the box ' Turn off system restore on all drives' click 'apply' and 'okay'.Reboot your computer and then enable system restore again and create a 'New Restore Point' by going to 'Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore'.

Run the Kaspersky scan again but only scan your 'C' drive and post the log.

When I try to download webroot spysweeper I get -sites either unavailable or cannot be found. Will retry later. When I try the SmitRem download my Avast warns me a virus has been detected. Please advise, should I turn off my Avast Virus?
Thank
mailliw

Another Avast false positive.Yes, turn it off until the cleaning is done. And the Webroot link does work. The download should popup right away.Probably Avast again.

For Webroot Spysweeper simply try the main page at http://www.webroot.com/ From there you can run the free scan where you will have to buy the retail to have things fixed. Spybot S+D also has it's limits. Lately the Ewido and AVG 7.1 Free editions have been performing the best to clean up the system here. I run those two along with AdAware SE Personal and the Windows Defender beta2.

With each having their own limits the four together have been a winning combo. Avast is probably detecting the SmitRem as a virus due to it being an executable file. Many trojans have an exe extenstion in order to load with Windows. If you are planning to disable Avast first download a copy of AVG while having that disabled. You can use the msconfig utility to temporarily disable as well as AVG afterwards.

Try posting the download page instead of the download link. The link there is being tagged by Avast due to the exe file extension on it. Avast is acting like a firewall stopping it for that reason.

Note : process.exe (smitfraudfix) is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Yes turn off avast for now and follow the instruction already posted.

I used Mozilla to download Spysweeper, turned off my Avast to download SmitRem. Then I did the steps you gave me. Spysweeper scanned ok, but in deleating said some error while deleating. I have a new Kaspersky scan; what next?-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Using Windows Explorer you can manually browse to and remove >"C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\gdnUS2339.exe"< Infected: Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Obfuscated.n skipped" to stop more startups from being created. You would right click and choose delete to remove that file to the recycle bin along with the others seen.

"C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\.housecall\Quarantine\ismon.exe.bac _a02704 Infected: Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Zlob.zk skipped
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\.housecall\Quarantine\isnotify.exe. bac_a02704 Infected: Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Zlob.to skipped
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\modding\ca_setup.exe/WISE0023.BIN Infected: not-a-virusSWTool.Win32.Cain.284 skipped
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\modding\ca_setup.exe/WISE0025.BIN Infected: not-a-virusSWTool.Win32.Cain.284 skipped
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\modding\ca_setup.exe WiseSFX: infected - 2 skipped"
The manual method ensures actual removal of these items where you simply empty the recycle bin once they are all there. Once that is done you can download AVG and gave that a run while Avast is still inactive to see what is found. These items are clearly shown as infected items. The others skipped are found in the "eXactAdvertisingBargainsBuddy.zip" with password protection inplace and are labeled suspicious. But this is something you put on and not seen as critical. The first one mentioned is the one that opens doors for other garbage, C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\gdnUS2339.exe.

I agree with PC eye. That round of cleaning removed alot of crap and navigating to and deleting the rest should be it.If any of these files are locked by windows, boot into safemode and delete them.Make sure all your security progams are disabled when doing this.

For these, on your desktop, click 'start/run' and type %appdata% and proceed to these files and delete.
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Recovery\eXactAdvertisingBargainsBuddy.zip /msexreg.exe Suspicious: Password-protected-EXE skipped
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Recovery\eXactAdvertisingBargainsBuddy.zip ZIP: suspicious - 1 skipped
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Recovery\eXactAdvertisingBargainsBuddy3.zi p/trkgif.exe Suspicious: Password-protected-EXE skipped
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Recovery\eXactAdvertisingBargainsBuddy3.zi p ZIP: suspicious - 1 skipped

Delete these also.

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\.housecall\Quarantine\ismon.exe.bac _a02704 Infected: Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Zlob.zk skipped
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\.housecall\Quarantine\isnotify.exe. bac_a02704 Infected: Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Zlob.to skipped
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\gdnUS2339.exe Infected: Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Obfuscated.n skipped

If you don't know what these are or where they came from, delete them also.

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\modding\ca_setup.exe/WISE0023.BIN Infected: not-a-virusSWTool.Win32.Cain.284 skipped
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\modding\ca_setup.exe/WISE0025.BIN Infected: not-a-virusSWTool.Win32.Cain.284 skipped
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\modding\ca_setup.exe WiseSFX: infected - 2 skipped

Once you have done this, reboot your computer and run ATF- cleaner again.Select the options like temp files, etc and run it.Now i want another Kaspersky scan but as i mentioned earlier, you only need to scan your 'C' drive, not your whole computer.During the scan setup, choose 'Folder' and then check 'C' drive only.Post that log along with a new HJT log.

I did as you said, except one: C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\gdnUS2339.exe Infected: I could not find it, yet it shows up on the new scan. Here is the new Kaspersks and HJT logLogfile of HijackThis v1.99.1
