computer is acting funny

hi i have recently been building a new computer and i have to put pressure on the 12v connector for the red power led to turn on. then i turn the computer on and it runs fine but then i cant turn it off .. i have tried holding the power button=nothing, pressing the reset switch=nothing...the only way i can turn it off is by turning off the psu switch. there is currently no operating system installed.. no monitor either or anything...i just want to be able to turn on and off the computer at will

any ideas on how to fix this because this is a real bother.

As far as to push down on the power LED connector on the motherboard to get it to work, there might be a pin that has been pushed back up into the connector.Look up inside the connector and try pushing the wires back ino the connector.

The problem your having with the power button and the reset button. Are you sure you dont have them backwards on the motherboard?
