no that isnt the reason, i have been to much more graphic forums then CF and everything loads more than fine, (and i am talking about that computer in my signature)

you used to be able to use .gif but people abused that privalage and that has been bisabled... all the people that have .gifs now if they changed theyre avatar they couldnt use a gif, the reason they have one is cus they had it before they were disabled... that is what SFR told me once...

Well Bobo has an animated avatar too, they can just remove the unappropraire avatars, warn the member, and ban him if he breaks the rule again.

idk, ask SFR... he is the person i PMed about it in the first place
 
Hmm.. I see.. I guess so. This forum was always about plain-ly-ness.
No eye scorching graphics and such.

But how can someone abuse .gif and not .jpg? It doesn't really make any sense to me besides the animation and size.. which I can only think as the animation being the reason..

I guess.. let's see.. since .gif can hold more of a better image when compressed down.. I am guessing the image was explicit and hq enough that when compressed to jpg, it seemed like a totally different image..

You don't read well!!!!! The problem is people put porn type gif's as an avatar so it is history now!!!!! GET over it!!!
 
what the hell does it matter, its just a dumb picture, just have a jpg like everyone else, for christ sake, anyone who protested about it should have their limit put to 1.5Kb and a dimension limit of 5x5.... its just a picture!!!!

I bet that gif is not porn so enjoy!!! The problem was some had not so nice GIF's. Then others get mad cuz they can't use one.... To those who are mad,,,GET OVER IT!!!!

u can put GIF porn, i can put JPG porn... the only diference is that is isn't moving...
the fact is that the administrators/moderators disabled it and it seems it is going to stay that way, so i suggest you live with it... even if it doesn't make sence to you...

You can? or Can't? Look at your posting!!!! I bet if I used a Like say Jenna Jameson type jpeg for an avatar it would be gone real quick!!!! Get real they quit the GIF's because of porn type avatatrs,,, And if I am wrong I am sure one of the moderator's will tell me so.
