Core 2 Duo E4xxx or Pentium Dual Core E2xxx

I have my eye on some processors, the choice between a C2D E4xxx or PDC E2xxx. I think i'll get the pentium dual core due to compatibility worries. don't want to buy a new cpu to find it doesnt work in my mobo.

So whats better out of those 2?
No other suggestions please, don't have the funds for it.

Core2Duo is definitely the better processor.

I see your MOBO in your sig line isn't listed. Do you have a pre-built computer - like a Dell, HP or something. If so, you can find your motherboard model via google search - or post your Computer brand - model and get a better idea of what CPU you can use in your board.

no, the cpu is for my new(ish) rig. no OEM mobo there.
my current pc was prebuilt, and subsequently upgraded by me.
I think i will be safe and get the PDC, i don't want the hassle of re-selling an incompatible cpu.
