OCing a core2 extreme

Has anyone here OCd a core2 extreme on a 680i mobo? I want to know how far I can go with the system I have without frying it.

It will always depend. Even if two setups are exactly identical, slight differences in the manufacturing process will make it so that one will most likely max out at a slightly different speed. Cooling is also a huge issue.

Yeah, Jet hit the nail on the head, all we can do is give you an estimate of how far you may be able to get, but don't take it as 100% concrete. First off, I'd get an aftermarket cooler. Just make sure you don't make big jumps, just move up by 5-10 mhz on the FSB at a time, untill it doesn't post, then up the voltage by 1, then keep going. Heat will be your main problem once you start playing around with voltages, as your cpu will be using more power, therefore letting off more heat. Also invest in some AS5 thermal compound before you start OCing.
Good luck.
